Hope you don't mind me stopping by your journal. Saw your reply to my comment over at H_C, and I wanted to come over and read your thoughts.
No problem! That's why I made these two entries public, in case any h_c peeps wanted to stop by. We've been having some good discussions there.
and why would you be stupid enough to admit this to your viewers?
This is what is so baffling to me. If they'd just left it all alone - let us believe that they knew what they were doing, even if we didn't like it...
I guess it just goes with the old adage - 'better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt.'
This time limit on the relationship showed in what we saw on screen, too. We got superficial issues that were neatly tied up into little bows after each episode, because hey! we've got to quickly explore(seriously, I cringe that they would even consider what they did exhausting the exploration; it's insulting)this relationship so we can say we did, end it, and move on!
SUCH a misstep, imo. And I can't figure why. We loved this show because it was uncommon. And now by doing the typical, expected thing, they've turned it into the most common thing ever. As House himself would say - boring! Why should we waste our time?
Thanks for dropping by! I like visitors, especially ones as thoughtful as you are. :-)
